Released in mid-2006,
The Sufferer & the Witness led Rise Against to national fame, receiving largely positive reviews in the national music press and peaking at number 10 on the
Billboard 200. The album produced a number of successful singles, including
"The Good Left Undone",
"Prayer of the Refugee", and
"Ready to Fall". Rise Against’s melodic, positive style of hardcore had finally begun to find a mainstream audience - the band even headlined the 2006
Warped Tour, no doubt due to the wildfire success of
The Sufferer & the Witness.
As of 2008 Rise Against are touring aggressively nationwide, though they recently confirmed they are about halfway done on their next studio album. Titled
Appeal to Reason, the band is shooting for a release by the end of the year. Keep your eyes open, punk fans!
